About Castle Donington...
Our French school is now based in the US but actually started in the UK, just a few miles from Castle Donington.
As a fellow Brit meself, I sometimes get nostalgic about the little countryside villages I used to enjoy: Melbourne and the walk round the lake, Ashby with the many shops, the little villages of Breedon and Diseworth… just pure beauty!
When my wife came over from the US for the first time I showed her Bradgate park. It was so freezing cold and she just has a flimsy jean jacket on. We will never forget it! But she loved to see the deer and the age-old knotted trees so typical of England.
Then there was the time I showed her the river Soar near Long Whatton, treading through the December mud almost losing her shoes at each step. It was epic!
I was based in Loughborough when I started to give French classes. After many back-and-forths to Leicester university, I discovered online teaching. It proved to be much more effective for the students. Hence, OuiCommunicate was born.
As you can see from this short description, I am a “true” Brit who’s just as much a “true” speaker of French on a native level. This is the whole angle of our school. It is much easier for you to be eased into French if the teacher happens to know English as well as you do.
The advantage with online is that it is time effective as well as learning effective. Our students have all the attention of the teacher and can even access the learning documents online 24/7.
OuiCommunicate is especially great for those who can’t commit to regular in-person classes but still would like to learn French. You can book a class anytime you like and they only last for 20 minutes. Depending on your current level, Chris will guide you through the exercises you need to work on.
Once you’ve done some work at home, you simply book a meetup when it suits you and we discuss your latest progress. All classes are on video and the exercises are on PDF.
And if you study really well, you might even be able to finish the French program in 40 classes!

Practical information
Thanks to the Internet, there is no more need to be present in the same room to conduct a successful language class. There are actually many reasons why in-person classes are less effective, slower and quickly lead to becoming “hobby-classes”.
Probably not the best approach if you want to learn French with intent.
OuiCommunicate is a coursework-based language school. We have the French language available for you on our website in the form of worksheets, videos and quizzes.
You only pay for the 20-minute meetups with your teacher, in which we assess your understanding of specific parts of French.
Speaking French will gradually be integrated as you develop better tools. French will be taught to you as a speaker of English, with full understanding of your background.
As a result, you can expect to build strong foundations in French to become a confident speaker. You will have all the tools to grow and develop as an independent speaker of French.
