Hi, I'm Chris. Head teacher at OuiCommunicate.

We're home to speakers of English who need a step up from one-sided French classes.

Native speaker of French is no longer enough.

Your teacher needs to be twice that.

This is what we do.

If your French teacher doesn't quite "get" you

If you need flexible bookings

Try an English-to-French bilingual school

We can make your life easier!

Who are we?

How does it work?

A 40-class plan to cover French

Thanks to the Internet, there is no more need to be present in the same room to conduct a successful language class. There are actually many reasons why in-person classes are less effective, slower and quickly lead to becoming “hobby-classes”.

Probably not the best approach if you want to learn French with intent.

OuiCommunicate is a coursework-based language school. We have the French language available for you on our website in the form of worksheets, videos and quizzes.

You only pay for the 20-minute meetups with your teacher, in which we assess your understanding of specific parts of French.

Speaking French will gradually be integrated as you develop better tools. French will be taught to you as a speaker of English, with full understanding of your background.

As a result, you can expect to build strong foundations in French to become a confident speaker. You will have all the tools to grow and develop as an independent speaker of French.

Become our next "success story"!

The lady in this video is originally from NY and wished for us to help prepare her move to France.

Today, she is fluent and happily lives in France where she meets new people and uses French daily.

The “secret” to her success is nothing more than what we offer you: the same learning material and the same approach.

But don’t take our word for it: read the review she wrote for our Google Business page!

A word about Farmington...

If I were to describe Farmington to someone I’d say “charming little suburban town and all the facilities you need.” Do you agree?

It does have beautiful walks along the river, a wonderful view from atop the bridge, Tunxis Mead for sports, historic houses, a forest, good schools, nice people…it has it all.

Except perhaps a school to learn French that the rest of the world might envy us? We may keep hoping yet!

Speaking of which, did you know that 99.99% of French classes are taught by French expats? We know this because we look them up one by one all over the world. We know exactly what they do and what they offer.

it is not necessarily incompatible but the risk we run by taking such classes is very simple. A native speaker of French can only ever think like one, and teach French following that angle. The problem is, the students see language as speakers of English.

Contrary to the typical FLE French schools, OuiCommunicate pushes it a step further: we’re native speakers of English AND of French. And there’s no one else that we’ve found who can do what we do. Our skill is not taught in any college in the world. It doesn’t matter if you’re a language professor from MIT or Harvard…it’s just a different league.

(OK, we’ll stop flexing now and come back to some more rational arguments.)

But how cool is that? A league of our own, I’d say it’s pretty cool indeed.

While we’re on the topic, the word Farmington leads itself very well to an impromptu French class. Since letters actually refer to sounds we can easily know how it is pronounced. The “A” and “i” are always the same and it’s the last syllable that takes the weight. The “o” is instinctive which gives us the word “FarmingTON” with all letters clearly audible. Simple.

Do you know why it’s better for you to learn French with a native speaker of English?

Because as a speaker of English you carry a certain language logic within you. This interferes when you learn French, such as the accent you might have.

A “strictly French” teacher from France doesn’t know what it feels like to be a native speaker of English. Even if they hear the larger part of your mistakes, they will miss many others. And often, they won’t know how it relates to English.

I will give you an example: how does the future tense in English match up with the future tense in French?

Your typical FLE teachers are not trained to know this. But we do times a million. We know how every little word and sound matches up between English and French.

So there you have it, dear students of Farmington. You might say we’ve come to save you! Or at least propose the French classes you deserve.

See you soon, Chris.
