Who are we?
How does it work?
How are we flexible?
At OuiCommunicate, we looked at the learning problems that we caused by a certain “tradition”: regular appointments being the main one.
For understandable reasons, every language school copies the high school way of doing things by selling hours of learning in a recurring way following a certain fixed schedule. It seems to make sense but it doesn’t. The needs of a high school and of a person learning a language are not the same.
Besides, how do we know you will perform well in your class on a certain fixed day? And do you even need a full hour? Mostly, you don’t.
The changes we made all went in the direction of flexibility because that’s what is needed to learn in the best conditions. It’s the regular schedules that prevent from learning well, precisely because the class becomes a habit. Once the French class becomes a regular thing in your week, the quality goes downhill.
The way it works is as follows: this website contains a high number of pre-recorded classes on video. Each of these videos is matched with a certain PDF document that contains exercises and answers.
Since it’s all online, you literally study at any time of day or night you want. (By the way, this is free. What a cost saver!)
When you feel you’ve made progress or a little breakthrough, you book a short 20 minute class (a “meetup” more exactly) and you talk about your achievements with your tutor who will test you on this.
How do you know what to learn? This is where your tutor comes in. He will asses your present knowledge and guide you towards the most relevant French skills.
Will we actually speak French? Of course we will. The more you learn, the more we will be able to include French. But we won’t chat at all costs. We want our classes to have a purpose, otherwise we’re being sidetracked and wasting time.
I hope to meet you soon! Chris.
Become our next "success story"!
The lady in this video is originally from NY and wished for us to help prepare her move to France.
Today, she is fluent and happily lives in France where she meets new people and uses French daily.
The “secret” to her success is nothing more than what we offer you: the same learning material and the same approach.
But don’t take our word for it: read the review she wrote for our Google Business page!
Practical information
Thanks to the Internet, there is no more need to be present in the same room to conduct a successful language class. There are actually many reasons why in-person classes are less effective, slower and quickly lead to becoming “hobby-classes”.
Probably not the best approach if you want to learn French with intent.
OuiCommunicate is a coursework-based language school. We have the French language available for you on our website in the form of worksheets, videos and quizzes.
You only pay for the 20-minute meetups with your teacher, in which we assess your understanding of specific parts of French.
Speaking French will gradually be integrated as you develop better tools. French will be taught to you as a speaker of English, with full understanding of your background.
As a result, you can expect to build strong foundations in French to become a confident speaker. You will have all the tools to grow and develop as an independent speaker of French.
