Notes on our French sessions

Phone call on 27 Dec 2024

Summary: We had our first talk on Dec 27 and I learned that Brent was a consultant with his own business. He has a new customer in France and already took two trips to Aix. Brent a tried a number of methods: flashcards, Lingoda, linQ, Paul Noble and others. He wants the French words to be his own. “They’re not MY words”, he says. There’s no feeling in repeating phrases. He wants to be able to express himself. He describes himself as being at entry level. There is no substance in the methods he tried. It’s superficial, there is no soul. Brent can’t converse. Brent told me he is a disciplined learner and wants a target and a plan. He wants structure and likes it. He really wants to learn!
