Hi, I'm Chris. Head teacher at OuiCommunicate.

We're home to speakers of English who need a step up from one-sided French classes.

Native speaker of French is no longer enough.

Your teacher needs to be twice that.

This is what we do.

If your French teacher doesn't quite "get" you

If you need flexible bookings

Try an English-to-French bilingual school

We can make your life easier!

Who are we?

It’s nice that a teacher be a native speaker of the language they teach, it’s better if they also speak yours as a native. Press play to learn about our bilingual teaching of French.

How does it work?

There’s so much depth to this website, we think it’s easier to show a video than to try to lay it all out in pictures and in writing. This is why we deliver results: no more grey zones!

A 40-class plan to cover French

Thanks to the Internet, there is no more need to be present in the same room to conduct a successful language class. There are actually many reasons why in-person classes are less effective, slower and quickly lead to becoming “hobby-classes”.

Probably not the best approach if you want to learn French with intent.

OuiCommunicate is a coursework-based language school. We have the French language available for you on our website in the form of worksheets, videos and quizzes.

You only pay for the 20-minute meetups with your teacher, in which we assess your understanding of specific parts of French.

Speaking French will gradually be integrated as you develop better tools. French will be taught to you as a speaker of English, with full understanding of your background.

As a result, you can expect to build strong foundations in French to become a confident speaker. You will have all the tools to grow and develop as an independent speaker of French.

Become our next "success story"!

The lady in this video is originally from NY and wished for us to help prepare her move to France.

Today, she is fluent and happily lives in France where she meets new people and uses French daily.

The “secret” to her success is nothing more than what we offer you: the same learning material and the same approach.

But don’t take our word for it: read the review she wrote for our Google Business page!

A word about Chicago...

There are not too many American cities that have made it into the collective consciousness of Europeans. Chicago is definitely one of them. Even if Europeans can’t locate it on a map, they definitely know the name.

Did you know that in French, using the word Chicago as an adjective refers to a dangerous neighbourhood? That would be from the Al Capone legacy all those years ago.

And of course the famous Chicago Bulls helped spread the name at the time of Michael Jordan’s fame. Many people wore Bulls clothes without even  following the NBA. It just looked good!

The word Chicago can also help you learn French: you can learn 3 very important sounds in this one word alone. i-a-o. Simply memorize them and never make a mistake again!

There are also language schools in Chicago but none that do what we do. We specialize in bilingual French classes specifically made for speakers of English. We can do this because we are bilingual ourselves and this makes your job much easier.

As a speaker of English you carry a certain language logic within you. This interferes when you learn French, such as the accent you might have.

A “strictly French” teacher does not know what it feels like to be a native speaker of English. Even if they hear the larger of your mistakes, they will miss many others. And often, they won’t know how it relates to English.

Here’s an example: how does the future tense in English match up with the future tense in French?

Your typical FLE teachers are not trained to know this. But we do times a million. We know how every little word and sound matches up between English and French.

Dear French students of Chicago, we have come to make your learning easier. And in the cold months of winter you might even find further comfort in nice cosy online French classes!

Watch out for that wind now! See you soon, Chris.
