So you're moving to Europe!
Whether for work or a change of scenery, many English-speakers end up in one of the 4 main European countries where they speak French: Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
To the question “Do they all speak the same French?”, the answer is “yes”! (And no, French is not the invention of France, nor its property!)
If you are like many other future expats, you might already have joined a Facebook group or two and researched questions on Reddit and Quora. They’ll tell you French is “like this” or “like that” and they all know the way to learn it.
At OuiCommunicate, we stay clear of national stereotypes and don’t pay much attention to whether French is “hard” or “easy”. The only thing that works is to clear your mind, sit down with a pen in hand and get to it.
Each language is comprised of a set of “skills” – For example pronunciation can be grouped into a skill. The task now is to learn this skill.
Learning targeted French phrases such as ordering off a menu or asking for a direction are not skills. These are rather the manifestation of underlying skills that are the true foundation.
It’s similar to a car. You don’t just build “a car” – you put together the pieces that are later called “a car” once they are all together. If the pieces are not together and are all lying in a disorderly way on the ground, they are not “a car”. Get it?
At OuiCommunicate, we will teach you French skills that will allow you to become independent in French and make up all the sentences you want. Ordering off a menu will just be a small part of what you can do.

Practical information
Thanks to the Internet, there is no more need to be present in the same room to conduct a successful language class. There are actually many reasons why in-person classes are less effective, slower and quickly lead to becoming “hobby-classes”.
Probably not the best approach if you want to learn French with intent.
